The energy policy of the City of Zürich is working. According to the latest consumer analysis, energy consumption in the City of Zürich from the years 1992 to 2005 remained practically unchanged, even though the population and the area to be heated increased by 9.8 percent.

The energy consumption figures of the consumer analysis met with the approval of the FDP city councillor, Andres Türler. According to Türler, Zürich will probably achieve the guidelines set in the Kyoto Agreement. The targets have been set high, especially as concerns the aims for a  “2000 watt society”.
